FOODEX Japan 2018 – Tokyo, Japan, March 6-9, 2018

In conjunction with the Victorian Government, Ulupna Winery joins food producers of Melbourne to exhibit at Tokyo’s FOODEX Japan 2018, the 43rd International Food and Beverage Exhibition. With 3,350 exhibitors and an anticipated attendance of 85,000 trade professionals, FOODEX Japan 2018 is Asia’s largest dedicated food and drink exhibition.
We will be located at Booth 8F30 (Hall 8).

Women in Wine Event- September 26, 2017, London, UK

Wine Australia has teamed up with the Australian Women in Wine Awards (AWIWA) to host the 2017 awards in London – the first time that the winners was announced outside of Australia. As part of the event, Wine Australia ran tastings for trade and consumers on 26 September.

The awards recognise and celebrate leading women in wine while the tastings will highlight the quality and diversity of Australian wine made by female winemakers and wineries owned by women.

This unique event – the first of its kind – gives the UK trade, press and consumers the opportunity to meet Australia’s most prominent women in wine, taste their wines and hear their stories. It was the largest gathering of Australian women winemakers and winery principals outside Australia.

Winners of the Australian Women in Wine Awards 2017 was announced in the morning of 26 September and live-streamed to Australia.

Ulupna was among over 40 wineries attending and pouring at the largest gathering of Australian women winemakers and winery principals in Europe.

Regional Tastes Festival – September 23, 2017, Eynesbury

Eynesbury is home to one of Victoria’s largest remaining Grey Box Forests and is surrounded by wondrous and very fertile natural landscapes producing some of the best food and beverage products in our state. Regional Tastes is an annual festival where the Eynesbury local community and visitors come together for a day of fun and entertainment to celebrate the regions food and wine offerings by honouring local farmers, wine makers, home brewers, artisanal producers and hospitality industry.

MIND MARK – Zhang Zhaohui’s Artistic Monologue – June 8, 2017 Melbourne

Full of ethereal and colourful floral motifs, the lively exhibition of artworks by Zhang Zhaohui exploring themes of life and passion opens on June 8 with a ceremony from 6 to 8 pm. Ulupna Winery is proud to be a co-organiser of this event.

It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to have the Mayor of Moira Shire, Gary Cleveland cut the ribbon at our official cellar door opening. As Viviana so wonderfully put it during her speech: we are thankful for all the “Ulupna guardian angels” that have been with us throughout the journey so far and we hope to share with you all many more Ulupna moments.

Live music, tours, and tastings of some of our very best wines and a cheese platter, along with a visit from the Royal Flying Doctors and their plane simulator, taking advantage of the brilliantly bright weather to showcase our winery as part of the Sun Country on the Murray Food and Wine Festival.

Musings with Ulupna Phoenix and Kathy’s beautiful roses from her garden. She takes care of her roses with equal care that she does with her vines.

Ulupna staff, family and friends were, proudly, all part of making a short video for Hunghau TV to wish all the participants of the G20 Summit Chinese New Year greetings.

It was rather exciting to have a filming crew and a photographing crew for the morning at the winery. Our friends and friends of our friends were lovely in their participation in this occasion.

Ulupna was proud to be invited to this highly sought after event. It was interesting to learn about the Chinese investors’ perception of working and investing in Australia.

Ulupna 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon was amongst the top awarded wines of the event.

After the unveiling ceremony of the BMW 7 series, our wines were proudly accompanied the dinner at the prestigious Red Emperor restaurant.

A special group of Chinese visitors and the ex-Ambassador of Romania were taken on a guided tour of the winery by Jessica and Kathy. The visit was finalised with a wine tasting of Ulupna’s latest releases.

Ulupna donated wine to the Inaugural Women in Wine Scholarship in 2015. This scholarship was set up to enable a woman to study a WSET course. As Ulupna means “strong women” we are very supportive of this award.

Ulupna Winery showcased the wines to the Victorian regional audience. It was quite a remarkable turn out of people despite the cloudy morning.

Our second time participating in this event set by the sea with wines and cheese certainly delights the public as well as us. As usual our stand was extremely popular. People came back again and again to taste our wines and compare them to the other fine wines showcased.

Ulupna Winery was a sponsor in the Sri Lanka Club Event to raise money for the Sri Lankan elderly in need of assistance.

We were invited to meet and listen to interesting women. This is always a lovely experience.

Ulupna, together with Australia Brighton, sponsoring the VIP wines for this beautiful concert of both western Classical and Chinese music. Both music styles were harmoniously integrated. Our wines were very well received.

Ulupna had fun showing our wines to Melburnians – a bit of warmth in the middle of a Melbourne winter.

5-8 June, 2015
Ulupna was pleased to participate in this major national event, to be able to showcase the wines to a local audience as well as to some international visitors.

A very few bunches of grapes were left on the vines to shrivel and gain concentration and botrytis. They were harvested very late in the season at 0^ºC . Hand picked and crushed with our feet (washed beforehand!), 12 bottles are slowly fermenting. In a couple of years we shall taste the results. Ulupna Essenzia!

Ulupna was very proud to present our wines to the many visiting food and wine journalists and other professionals who visited Victoria as part of this program.

What a beautiful way to celebrate Saint Valentine. The temperature was perfect and the grapes were certainly ready. Master Vio, our winemaker, was all organised for the great event of the year.

This is what happens when there is no time to go the winery but the winemaker needs me to decide on the blending: the wines in samples arrive to the office instead. Move the computers away, here come the wines. Of course, the blending took a few takes; this is one of them.

What a crowd! And what great feedback on our wine from the local audience!

It was an interesting occasion where Ulupna presented the wines as well as a speech on leadership from a vigneron’s perspective.
